Frequently Asked Questions

Prescriptions

Yes! We require a prescription for all medications that are prescription only where they are being filled or being sent to. Just like your local pharmacy, we require a valid prescription from a physician licensed to practice in your area of residence.
During your checkout process, you will have the opportunity to upload your prescriptions. Alternatively, you can email or fax them when you've confirmed your order. We also accept mailed prescriptions but note that this could delay your order.
All prescriptions must follow the Standard Guidelines for Prescriptions; they are as follows:
  1. The prescription is to be written in English and or Latin
  2. Name of patient
  3. Date prescription is written
  4. Name of Medication
  5. Strength of Medication
  6. Quantity to dispense
  7. Instruction on taking medication (SIG)
  8. Number of refills allowed
  9. Generic equivalent permitted
  10. Doctors name and signature
Yes we can, we are also one of the very few companies that can provide veterinarian prescription services. The patient profile and prescription are still required by law, to be submitted and verified by us. Prices on pet/livestock meds may differ from prices advertised on our site. For a quote please contact us.
The maximum supply you can order depends on the type of drug it is, whether it requires a prescription or it is OTC and where it is being sent from, provided that you have a valid prescription for that supply of medication. If your physician writes a prescription for more than the maximum supply allowed, then we can fill those refills as they come due. For more information on the maximum supply allowed for your prescriptions, please contact us.
We legally cannot ship any narcotic or controlled substances. We also will not sell any habit forming medications.

Product

Drug manufacturers hold patents on the brand-name drugs they make and sell. When the patent expires, pharmaceutical companies can manufacture a generic, or copy, of the brand-name and sell it at substantial discounts.

A generic medication has the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, directions, performance, and intended use as its brand-name counter-part. Before generics are made available on the market, the manufacturer must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name and works as effectively. The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademark laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name medication. Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers do not have to invest large sums of money to invent a drug.
These are trade or brand names registered by the manufacturer. In different countries, manufacturers will often use different trade names. The medications have the same active ingredients, but may look different and have a different trade name. e.g. Adalat XL (Canada) and Adalat Oros (New Zealand).
Products with the RxSelect badge provide customers with the deepest savings in our catalog. Many are generic versions of medications that are currently only available as brand names in Canada. Products from the RxSelect program also allow you to earn rewards on your purchases that can be used to for future orders.

Pricing

Most patients save 40-90%, which can be hundreds of dollars per order.
We have located and affiliated ourselves with several global suppliers and pharmacies in order to get you the medication where it is offered at the lowest cost. Also, patent laws differ from country to country and lower cost generic alternatives may be available for drugs that are only available as brands at your local pharmacy.
The majority of prices are less expensive, but there are exceptions.
